In spite of the first amendment, Americans read very little that is not censored, albeit in a covert fashion. Other societies are more honest and perform their censorship in the open. White Americans hear and see very little of a positive nature about Black Americans. Reading publications produced by black-owned companies has helped tremendously, but the individual citizen gets very little opportunity to express his or her views, black or white. In essay form, here are the thoughts and perspectives of one black citizen.
